KASUR – A seven-year-old girl was raped and killed in Kasur, north-eastern Pakistan, five days after she went missing from home.
According to Pakistan’s Express Tribune, the girl was abducted near her home when she was on her way to Qur’an class. The girl’s parents were out of the country when she went missing.
The incident triggered angry protests which erupted outside the District Commissioner (DC) office in Kasur.
Meanwhile, the Express News reported that parents in Kasur are expressing a deepening fear of sending their children to schools in the area.
On social media, the hashtag #JusticeforZainab has been trending on Wednesday, with many celebrities and politicians taking to social media website to vent their anger.
